2003 mitsubishi eclipse gs 2.4 liter 5 speed

while driving i stepped on gas pedal a little more than usual and was gonna
shift gears into third . All the sudden it made like a bogging noise or duzz
noise and shut down and now wont start . what could this be?

When you attempt to start does the motor crank ... or just Click? Sounds like an "over-heat" problem

Well that's good news ... perhaps it's something minor. There are quite a few things that will case an engine to quit ... probably a sensor Timing belt is not always that serious .... BUT ,,, DON'T CRANK THE ENGINE UNTIL YOU FIND OUT WHAT IT IS because one SOME cars you can do damage if the belt is broken and you rotate the engine
