driver side door opens from outside only

The lock rod from the inside door handle to the locking mechanism is either missing or came off. You'll likely need to remove the door panel to see if it is attached or not. Just pop it back into place if it did become detached. FYI, door panels aren't hard to remove, BUT you need to make sure you remove ALL the screws holding it into place (they love to hide some in the armrest area, or along the bottom edge. Then there are the plastic rivets keeping the panel in place, those you can pry out, use a flat pry bar or pick up a cheap set of trim removal tools at someplace like Harbor Freight.
