How to get the Driver side power window switch working

Asked by Jan 31, 2017 at 05:23 PM about the 2007 Mitsubishi Endeavor SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The power window switch on the driver door stopped working.  All the other
door switches work and the fuse is good.

I have found that I can open my door all the way and all the switches work. Thus, the relays are working. What I suspect is a wire is broken but making contact when the door is all the way extended or a connection is barely touching. I haven't taken the door apart yet but that is the next step.

Doug. That is exactly the condition of my door. In fact, I can see the frayed wire inside the rubber boot running between the door and car. I cut the boot open just to look inside. I'll have to remove the door panel to fix the wire. I'll need to unclip the wire from the window switch and speaker so I can get some slack to repair the frayed wires. A guy on YouTube has an excellent video showing how to remove the door panel.

Great, let me know how it goes. I'll try to get to my window this weekend.

Wanted to update this post. After removing the door panel as per the above youtube video I found that I had actually 3 wires that were broken. Spliced in a repair on each, heat shrieked and put the door back together. All switches on the drivers door are now working.
