my 1996 ford taurus gl when going down the road and coming to a full stop. the car will not move unless you put it in neutral and back to drive it will then go down the road. Hello, I have a 2001 Ford Taurus Wagon and it is having some issues. It starts, however, the idle is jumpy and thr RPM's surge and it sputters and stumbles and back fires at times while driving, and sometimes the gas peddle jumps under my foot. The engine light is flashing and I smell gas when I get out of the vehicle.I have to make the repairs myself and do not have a lot of funds to toss around in the process.
