Starting Issue after dying on a hot day.

Asked by GuruGZ7PS Aug 15, 2020 at 05:54 PM about the 1997 Mercury Sable LS Sedan FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I was in the park in lot at work listening to the radio
and it was hot. Simply put after the 12min drive to
work and sitting there for another... 8? My engine
just kind of shut off. I tried to start it and after
having my Dad come look at it, no spark from
spark plugs seemed to be the only thing
resonating as a problem (holding the attachment
off to get it to spark). Fuel seems fine, I was quite
low on Antifreeze but filled it with water till I could
get paid tomorrow,  still nob start. New starter.

Check fuses radio ignition and battery fuse then look toward your battery or alternator if your car holds power check ecu wire a cable with the negative off of the battery and positive still on plug a wire to both for about 15 min this resets your ecu/pcu mainly do this if your security light is on
