I have a 2005 Mercury Sable Ls it wont start

My car wont start 2005 mercury ls the gauges are flickering and making a sort of ticking noise all
of the lights come on and the radio works but the car is like dying out it wont turn over I dont
understand what is wrong at first it would just hesitate but now it just wont start Please help

get your battery tested and alternator checked just in case it's not getting any charge
