Clunking noise when put in Drive

Asked by Zakushi Oct 03, 2018 at 02:58 PM about the 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7L GL FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe and I use it
to haul things on a big property. I had to go
off-road which is something I usually do, and
I heard a loud clunk when I went over a
bump. Then I started hearing the clunking
nonstop. It only happens in when I put it in
drive though, and very slightly in reverse.
Also I don’t know if this might have anything
to do with it but I found 3 ball bearings under
my car.

1 Answer

Figured it out. CV Axle kinda exploded or something. Metal broke and all the ball bearings fell out
