2002 mercury mountaineer awd 4.0 it stay in 4 wheel at all time i that 60-40 but in at all time and have no switch turn on-off need help please thanks

it stay in 4 wheel drive at all time i that it was 60-40 and there no switch for on or off. you feel it in 4wheel drive when u make a turn more or when you stop and pull out help please

your mountaineer is an AWD [All Wheel Drive} that means all wheels drives at all time

Not true. Your vehicle will go in to 4 wd only when the situation presents its self. True its no turn on off button. For instance if you sfuck in a ditch your vehicle will automatically kick in to 4wd until you are out. I took the front drive shafts off of mine and made it a two will drive. And while we at it, your tra smission is a throw away trasmission.
