I need suggestions! My 2002 Mercury Cougar dash lights went out all of the sudden and the headlights are really dim. We checked fuses but it doesn't look like any are blown. Battery is new.

Check your alternator. It should be around 14.2 volts with nothing on like headlights, radio, ect. With everything on headlights, rear defrost ect. it will be a little less than 14 volts but should be above 12.
