I have a 2005 mercury mountaineer and the front differential including tranfer case is out.The whole awd/abs system is out. How much is this to replace?

Yup! We've repaired two in our fleet so far. Not worth the investment, time or trouble.

I didn't answer your question: approximately $1000 to $1500 in parts from a reputable dismantler. 4 to 6 hours of labor and then there's the incidentals: small parts, fluids, seals etc. You could put $2K in it easy.
