Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. Summer has come around so I am using the
AC more often. I've noticed when I use the AC my cars acceleration is slow...is
this normal? The compressor sounds really loud as well and I'm wondering if it
is about to go out on me? Can anyone help?

AC does take some power away from engine. If its making more noise than typical other cars just drop by a friendly mechanic or two and just ccnwat they tell u. Could be clutches, etc going bad.

Since you are driving a low power car the AC is going to make a noticeable dent in the available power.
