Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So i have a 1998 Explorer it start up but
when i put it into drive or 2 Gear it dies my
revise is out to... Everyone telling me it could
be the Fuel pump i havent take it to a shop
or anything for somebody to look at i had to
get it towed to my house i just dont wanna
have spell lot money... What should i do

No reverse means you need tranny work. Not related to the engine killing. Do what your expertise enables you. Begin cleaning the throttle body and IAC and see if it will stay running. Check the fuel pressure at the rail.

Idle Air Control Valve. It should be located on top of the engine connected to the throttle body. Has an electrical connection on it. Follow the black round duct from the air filter to where it connects on the throttle body. Should be only a few inches past where the rubber meets the body. Clean the throttle body and IAC with throttle body cleaner, not carb cleaner.
