Asked by William Jul 24, 2011 at 02:51 PM about the 1998 Ford Explorer 4 Dr Limited AWD SUV

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

tested @ autozone  and they suggested engine control module bad.Not sure Any confirmation from anybody,Papa,please advise.

how hard are you accelerating? Fords cut the compressor under heavy acceleration.

if your are accelerating fast, it is normal, otherwise you may want to have the WOT (wide open throttle) ac switch checked.
