We don’t change the an alternator by how long. You can check by digital multimeter. So we know the battery has 12v. What you will do? first start the engine and check the battery by digital multimeter you have to find 13v or 14v this is mean the alternator is good. Good luck

Not long at all. For a shop, it will take longer to get the part from the store than it would to put it in. For a DIYer, with little experience, figure a few hours. You only need basic tools, sockets/wrenches.
