The engine park assist and brake light stay on most of the trip. When you stop at a light either the brake or emergency park remains engaged for a second or two, then releases. Mechanic said a module had burned out and replaced it with my permission. The car is still doing the exact same thing. Mechanic said drive it while it'll reset. 5 days no reset. My question is what could cause this. PS Mechanic still has the car. Im not paying anymore money. His fault for not knowing and guessing. But I still would like someone s input.

I am having the same problem with my 2018 terrain this is the 3rd time I have taken it to the dealership in 4 weeks and all they keep saying is when we hook it up it’s not reading any codes and that they have driven it multiple times and the message is not coming up when they drive it. When I stop at a light and the auto shut off comes on then I release the brake and it says released parking break that only stays on like 5 sec then another message pops on with the wrench and it says service park break assist. The dealership is no help.

The dealership told me it was a sensor. Charged me $700.00. Two days later my wife told me it still was doing the same thing. Dealership told me it make take time for the sensor to sync. Told him No I'm bringing it back in. Called me the next day and said I needed a new battery at another $140.00. He said we will waive the labor charge. Told him no just leave it ill come get it and take it to another shop. He said no need for that let him see what he could do. Call me the next day and said come pick up the car. He said we changed the battery and its no charge. Of course when I got home I checked to see. It was a new battery. And the prior problem had gone away. Been running fine since then
