Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2002 Kia Spectra wont start since being put on a computer.  A mechanic put a friends Kia
on a computer to read the codes and disconnected the battery and reconnected it to clear
the codes. Now the car wont start it will turn over though.  The mechanic said the Throttle
position sensor is bad and so is the computer.   I want to make sure that is what is wrong
before she has to buy a new computer.  Can you help please?

First off you don't clear the codes by disconnecting the battery. If they had a computer on the KIA the computer should have cleared the codes. Start with the TPS and see if the car starts. Almost sounds like the mechanic doesn't know what he's/she's doing or they are trying to screw your friend out of money. Maybe take it to a different mechanic.
