I have a 2003 kia sedona.. the alternator died on it so i replaced ot and the belts.. now tje brake and battery light stay on bit are very dim.. when i flip my turn signal on or press the brake pedal

Start the vehicle and using a voltmeter check to see voltage is across the battery, it should be 13.5-14.0 volts. If it is over 14.5 I would suspect the voltage regulator is bad. If it is less verify that the main fuse/alternator fuse wasn't blown during service. If that is good check the tension on the alternator belt as it is probably not tight enough. Most likely this is your cause.

Thank u.. but i took the new alternator back.. it was over charging my battery as i suspected,. They gave me a new one and the lights went out.. i didnt think a new alternator would do that.. but i wasn. Thinking due to heing frustrated withthis vehicle..
