why does my brake pedal go to the floor, I have grinding and the front pads were recently replaces and rear durms adusted

Asked by jcoach Feb 10, 2016 at 07:55 AM about the 2004 Kia Sedona EX Luxury

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I had the front brake pads replaced and the rotors turned with the rear drums adjusted, now I have a grinding sound coming from the rear brakes and the pedal is at the floor. If I have to stop suddenly, the brakes don't hold, but if I slow down then press pedal, release and press again, the car will stop

Sound like the problem is with the rear breaks, take off rear drums and inspect. Sounds like some repair back there is needed.

Your brake hydraulic system may need to be bled or maybe the master cylinder needs to be replaced.

Air in the lines, the lines need to be bled. If you don't know how, let a Pro do it!!
