Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When the key is turned on, it does not do anything. Then after sitting for 5-10 minutes it starts normally. What are the possible causes? We have a new battery, cables are tight, alternator is charging and no warning lights from the dash are present. Thanks,
Terry (fyrspy2802@yahoo.com)

you could have a bad ignition switch, also have crank sensor checked or replace both parts.

Sounds like starter solenoid to me, or possibly an anti-theft issue with the key not recognizing.
