2003 Kia Optima Vibrations Just Won't Stop

Asked by SamanthaNeedsHelp Aug 14, 2016 at 09:25 PM about the 2003 Kia Optima SE

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Ok so I bought a used 2003 Kia Optima Se v4
(private party). The car would vibrate over 55
automatically thought tires. Brought it to 3 places
rebalance rebalance rebalance. Finally I put it in
the shop. So they said I had 2 egg tires (Not fully
round) and cv joint both front need to be replaced
did it. Picked it up it was worse now no handling.
Bring it back need struts and new tires to replace
the egg ones did it and did it. Still vibrates over 55
the faster I go the worse it gets sometimes so bad
I have to slow down to keep Controll of the car.
Brought it back they find nothing. One day stopped
into pepboys for inspection and oil change they
said the safety check showed nothing. It's getting
to the point I don't want to drive it on the highway
anymore.
Any suggestions?

The rack and pinion steering system coupled with a faulty CV repair. I would also have them look at the ball joints, and the control arms. It does not sound safe to drive. Take it to the Kia Dealer for the diagnostic. Its going to cost $100-$200 but they will tell you EXACTLY whats wrong with it. I always recommend the dealer, and some people give me a hard time. But i prefer a job done right, the first time, even if it costs a little more. How many miles on this car?

Tie Rods are the other thing I would look at. Seriously, your best bet is to get it into the Kia Hyundai Dealer and have them look at it, instead of guessing and dumping money into a car thats already not worth much, I would spend the $100-$200 on a full dealer diagnostic before proceeding. Did you pull a CarFax? Has the car been in an accident? rebuilt title?
