97 jeep not starting

So everytime i go to start my engine it
instantly kills all power to the vehicle
checked the battery and the alternator both
are good but i have no idea where to go
from here any ideas?

Have you cleaned the battery terminals and checked to see it the cable ends are in good shape?

If not cable ends you may have a bad ground to chassis or motor
