Should a manual transmission have a higher torque rating than the engine? Ex. Engine is 400 ft-lbs and transmission is 350 ft-lbs

Just wanna know before I consider new transmissions on my jeep.

Yes. If the design limits are exceeded, the transmission will fail before it wears out.
