Hi! I have a 99 Ford Mustang, V6. Last week I had the car in idle when I noticed the lights going dim, the radio tuning in and out. As I was in motion the RPM's dropped and the car shut off for about 35-45 seconds before starting on its own again. But this time the engine sounded weaker and felt sluggish. I also noticed my dash board was reading incorrectly, for instance saying I had a full tank of gas when it was half full. Also, the engine light was off, something I had been dealing with for 2 months. The next day my power windows weren't working and the issue happened again after only driving it for a little over a block.I have not driven it since. Any suggestions on what could be causing the problem?

Have the alternator checked to see if it is charging.

Thank you, will do. A friend had suggested that may be the issue. He also mentioned it could possibly be the wire harness needs replacing. He noticed it was wearing out when he checked the car for me. Could that also be whats causing the issue?

most likely the alternator, if it goes out your battery wont be charging and it will start to drain causing the car to act funny (AC not blowing out like normal, lights dimmed, random powering off, not starting, all lights come on)
