My 2001 Jeep Wrangler sport occassionally will not start. The starter does not react. Any ideas?
Occassionally, my Jeep will not start. I have to put it into Neutral in order to get it started. Tonight, however, it would not start. No starter sound. So, I was thinking maybe it was a connection issue between the starter and my battery or maybe just a spark plug issue.
Hi tlassak! It's very possible it's a connection issue but the two problems you list here may not be completely related. You seem to have a sensor issue when you need to put your Wrangle in neutral to start it, but a complete no-start is an entirely different animal. Here's a no-start troubleshooting guide to your current problem. Once you get it going again you will need to check with a dealer or a transmission specialist to see if you can get the Jeep back to starting in park. Good luck! http://www.samarins.com/diagnose/index.html
