How is the 12 volt battery charged? Only by gas engine running or does charging the hybrid battery do that?

The gas engine has "no relationsip" with the 12V battery. There is no 12V generator. The 12 V is charged through a DC-DC donverter from the traction battery. The Same as my PIP.
