My car wont start ccx

Asked by Amanda Oct 04, 2020 at 06:09 PM about the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu L FWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car wouldn't start at the gas station friday b4 last and I
finally got it to and drove home but my breaks were nearly
non existant and when I would press the brake i could hear
a strange noise almost like from the tire or maybe the brake
booster..  so I went to auto zone to get brake pads cuz they
were a but thin. I got to autozone made the purchase and
my car wouldn't start at all. I depleted my battery trying to..I
had to be towed home but 1st I had autozone scan it. It
threw 3 codes.. p0014, p0017, p0556,
The brake booster has been changed,  as well as the
variable camshaft timing solenoid.  I also needed a new
battery I just put that in and it started immediately. I bleed
the brakes and then put the reservoir back on and out the
tires back on it and now it wont start. I put it I. Neutral to
safety start it and it started, I drove around the block to the
water hose turned it off and now it wont start in safety
either.. I really dont know what else to do...

P0014 refers to camshaft performance, P0017 refers to crankshaft position the camshaft and crankshaft work together the p0556 refers the the brake booster pressure sensor. Since you have replaced the camshaft timing solenoid and the brake booster I would start with clearing the codes and let the system detect them again but first check your engine oil level and if its low (but clean) add some, if its overdue for a oil change of if its dirty change it before even trying to go any further with your diagnostics...dirty or low oil level will cause a car not to start or run poorly... Post your results and if you have any questions please ask and i'll do my best to help....Good Luck, Tim
