2017 Nissan Altima Transmission issue

Asked by Riccotton Sep 22, 2019 at 01:00 AM about the 2017 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My 2017 Altima with 38,500 miles (lease)
transmission is having severe issues.

1) many times I cannot accelerate from a stop
(sometimes up to 45seconds before it will kick in).

2) Once it kicks in, the transmission will not switch
into 2nd gear, and will rev high. (When This
happens I pull over and turn off vehicle and then
restart- and the issue will temporarily go away).

3) many times when it is working, it is not smooth,
and is revving high in general, and not the
smoothest switch into the next gear.

4) I was hoping it would be a sensor or electrical
issues (b/c once I shut off and restart, it
temporarily fixes itself).

- However, I see many others have very similar
issue and maybe my transmission is shot.

Car has been well maintained, so it’s troubling I am
having this issue.

Appreciate any insight you can Provide.

I greatly appreciate it!

Richard
