What does "Salvage history reported" mean when noted under Vehicle History?

It means the car was totaled by an insurance company for fire/flood/theft damage.

That means the vehicle was damaged to the point the insurance company totaled the vehicle. It would cost more to fix it than it's worth. The insurance company buys the vehicle from the owner and gets a salvage title so parts can be bought from the vehicle, like at a junkyard. There are people who buy these vehicles, put them back together, get a "rebuilt" title, and put the vehicle back up for sale. On a 4 year old vehicle, that's a lot of damage for the insurance company to total the vehicle and you don't want it! If it were a 10 year old vehicle it might be worth a look. But you'd still be taking a chance! Stay away from vehicles with "branded" titles. That includes salvage, flood, and Lemon vehicles!! Hope that helps! Jim
