2017 Kia Sorrento losing oil without a seen oil leak

Asked by Guru9BCYZT Jun 15, 2021 at 08:45 PM about the 2017 Kia Sorento 2.0T EX AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

At the time of the oil change , the oil stick is dry. There is no oil on the ground
and no known black smoke from tailpipe . The dealership wants to charge me a
diagnostic fee, plus the oil change , and then come back in 30 days and see
what happens. I am still under warranty.

You never check the oil level? Never let it get more than 1/2 quart low unless you want to buy a new engine. Complain to Kia if you think you are being treated unfairly.
