2000 Fird Taurus 100000 miles

I bought a 2000 Ford Taurus and it did great. Drive
it out of town for a weekend., it did well on tge
interstate too. I used it go to work one night after a
couple weeks driving it. When I left work u noticed
the ac compresor did not come on. Then as i got
out on tve highway i was going 45 mph in 2ng gear.   
It wont shift any higher. It is showing many difrent
things not working properly on test. Please help. I
thinl it is a sensor of some kind.

or the transmission needs some help, have it checked out instead of guessing. The car is 19 years old, it is going to have some issues.
