Key Fob Issues

Asked by 2017ExplorerSport Sep 10, 2019 at 10:55 AM about the 2017 Ford Explorer Sport AWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2017 Ford Explorer Sport with an ongoing key fob issue. Lock
buttons on the fob, locking/unlocking from the exterior door handles, and the
foot activated lift gate all work fine, no issues. As soon as I get into the
vehicle, it says "no key fob detected". I have replaced the battery and started
using the 2nd fob that came with the vehicle. Same issues with both fobs.
The only way I can get the vehicle started is by using the slot in the center
council, there are no problems with that.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this, or do I need to schedule service?
Thanks for the help in advanced!

Even if the vehicle was not under warrant, I'd suggest a qualified mechanic look at the problem. If you go poking around with the security feature you could leave the vehicle in a condition where it will not start.
