well according to the autozone site which I highly recommend, there are a few different battery sizes that will work with your vehicle now I don't know how much you are willing to spend, but here's a link http://www.autozone.com/batteries/battery/ford/ranger-2wd/2000/6-cylinders-v-3-0l-flex-fuel

When he says a few different sized I am sure what he means is different cranking amps. There is only one "right" size battery to fit it.
