Engine swap for a truck

I have a completely original 1988 Chevrolet C/K 1500 with a 5.0L V8 VIH 16V.
the engine has a knock and the transmission is basically gone. I love this truck
and have so many memories with it. I don't know how much it would be to do
this nor what I can do with it, but I am keeping it regardless. I want it to be fun
and exciting like the memories it gave me. I just want it to be fun and a daily
driver with get up and go. Can anyone help me with this at all?

I know but the question is what kind and where do I get them I have searched all over and was not able to find anything but $1600.00 and up motors and the transmissions are up there also.
