Question type: Maintenance & Repair

i have a 1990 chevy 1500 5 speed so im
driving dow the hwy and it locks up it
wont go. it shifts into the gears but

Is the clicking noise coming from the bell housing? Chances are high that the clutch has worn out or threw off the lining on the disc. That requires a clutch job. If the noise is coming from thr differential then the ring and pinion are broken. That requires a differential overhaul. HTH

Sounds like the trany will have to be pulled to see what is going on in the clutch department. If there are no visible signs of a problem, then check out the trany Your not hearing the noise from the rear end are you?
