Why truck won't engage

i have a 1990 chevy 1500 5 speed so im
driving dow the hwy and it locks up it
wont go. it shifts into the gears but
wont go. when u let the clutch out the
tires wont turn at all and it makes a fast
clicking noise like the spindle is not
catching

Sounds like the trany will have to be pulled to see what is going on in the clutch department. If there are no visible signs of a problem, then check out the trany Your not hearing the noise from the rear end are you?
