I do carpenter work and tow heavy loads often. Its about time to rebuild the engine. What could I do to gain the most horsepower for towing and speed if there is such a thing?

The head gasket is blown a little if that makes any since. I'm sure it won't be much longer till it water starts getting in the oil or on top of the cylinders. I figured since it has 205000 miles it would be a good idea to overhaul it instead of just changing the head gasket. Your right about the rebuilt part. I really never cared for any thing rebuilt. I guess I should give it more thought. What's the next size engine up that will maybe work with my transmission?
