Question type: General

Hey y'all so I've got a 93 Chevy Silverado k1500 5.7l
4x4 and I've had this truck for a few years now and it
had plenty of power when I got it but since I've had tje
truck its gone through 2 transmissions and is on it's
3rd now bit it's very sluggish from a stop and I mean
at least 1/2-3/4 throttle just to get going let alone
how slow it is from the gate but still has plenty of
power in reverse and im like enough power to break
traction when I punch it motor has had all its regular
maintenance but looks like a few gaskets are going
bad but anyways it's my daily now and I was hoping
to pick the brains for some of my fellow Chevy k
series fans

Rebuilt trannys or replacements ? From what I've heard some years had inherently crappy ones

Lack of power could be a worn timing chain or severely retarded (late) ignition timing. If you have a valve tap the knock sensor could be hearing it and the computer is retarding the ignition timing. This will also cause late transmission shifting and the engine running hot. Hope that helps! Jim
