Will 1990s Chevy s10 spider gears work in a 93 Chevy 1500 5.7l 4*4?

Asked by Mike Dec 19, 2022 at 08:02 PM about the 1993 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

What would I need to make this work? My spider
gears are grinded down but everything else inside
looks fine. And I don't have money to buy parts.
But have a Chevy s10 for parts? Could the swap
work?

Those are two completely different differentials, so no it’s not going to work. If everything else is good then bite bullet and get some aftermarket spider gears.
