Truck runs then shuts off.

Asked by GuruYGD7H Apr 09, 2018 at 01:38 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Silverado Stepside RWD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Truck will start on its own,
occasionally use starting fluid, will
idle smoothly then just shut off. Can
keep rpms up and drive it, some but
may shut off at low idle. I put a new
fuel filter on it, it has a new distributor
cap and rotor button since feburary.
Any ideas ?

I would guess the IAC valve , fuel pressure good ? motor to chassis ground is good ? ignition module ?

1991 chev trk starts runs about 15 to 30 mins than shuts down
