Question type: General

I have a 1996 Silverado K1500 4x4 with the 5.7L Vortec, I recently had my
cats stolen (cut right before and after both cats) and I'm worried about
burning, dropping, or warping a valve. Should I be worried about this? I have
the pipe that goes across from the driver side to the right side and and the left
pipe is just cut straight.

No valve concerns but now it will not run right. It will run lean or rich and the fuel economy will probably drop.

Thank you very much, I've been wondering this becuase I was always told that you need backpressure and long exhaust.

You need the cats otherwise the O2 sensors are getting wrong readings which confuses the ECU.

Did you file a report with the local police? Contact your insurance company to submit a claim?
