Crank no start 1998 chevy K1500

Asked by Colin Dec 13, 2019 at 11:10 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Cheyenne Extended Cab 4WD

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

It was running fine never had a problem with anything on
the engine. I turned it around in the yard one day and it ran
fine but when I got back in it it to go to work it would just
crank no start. This was about 5 months ago and it hasn't
ran since and I've replace and crankshaft sensor, camshaft
sensor, timing chain and gears, spark plug, wires, ignition
coil, and I can hear the fuel pump turning on but all it does
is cranks. It sounds like it's about to turn over but never
does. None of the people I know can narrow down the
problem

Just because the fuel pump is turning on doesn't mean there is enough pressure. It needs at least 50 PSI to start. Also when testing the pressure it should not descend from 40-45 Psi for at least 4-5 minutes after cranking.
