98 k1500 turn signal makes engine stutter

Today when I was driving a long distance in my 98
K 1500, about four or five times when I hit the turn
signal the acceleration "stuttered." It was sporadic,
but also, suddenly today,  the fuel gauge started
wiggling (more than the typical vibration).

How could the turn signal affect the accelerator's communication with the fuel pump? Are the wires close together?
