Passenger rear tire grinding-squeaking

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Driving on the highway yesterday around
55-60 mph. Once I started to break to exit
it sounded like my tire had popped. Once
of highway I examined the tire and
everything seemed to be fine. I noticed a
slight burning smell coming from the tire.
So I continued to drive and the sound went
away and came back 10 minutes later. It's
sound like my tire is flat but it's not. At
times the sound would shift to a grinding
sound like something is rubbing together.
Have a appointment with the dealership
tomorrow I just wanted an opinion
beforehand. Thanks.

check if there is to much air in the tire first , do rotation with any tire if the sound went then it a problem with the tire if didnot then you have problem with the rotors mostly or to low instant might be rear alignment

Sounds more like your bearings may be no good, lift the car and turn the wheels to see if you can pin point the noise

If it is to the point of smoking and making a smell, I would NOT drive it. The wheel could come off or lock and cause an accident. Be sure to check the parking brake to see it it is fully off.
