Question type: General

I'm looking for a gas saver but I don't like the hybrids, so I noted that the Elantra 2011 and up lists its MPG at 40
highway. Is that true?

Well, I can't say about the Elantra ( and don't mean to answer off-topic ) but, my 2002 Honda Civic averages 39 - 41 mpg highway. More important is the way you drive the vehicle more than the vehicle itself. If you drive like you just robbed a bank, you probably wont see anything close to that 40 mpg but, if you drive with the cruise at a steady, reasonable speed, you may or may not get the 40 mpg mark but you'll save enough to notice at the end of the month.

Probably, I get 35 mpg 75% city 25% highway. with 6 speed manual 2011 Elantra with step on it attitude !
