I just changed head gasket-timing belt-water pump. Now when I start the car, it goes from 1000 rpms to 3000 rpms constantly. Changed a couple of sensors but not sure if being a tooth off

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So it keeps reving from 2000 rpms to 3500 rpm constantly. Could being a tooth off on
timing belt cause this?

Possibly a vacuum leak. Recheck all vacuum lines to see if they were installed correctly.
