Try some general maintenance things first. Check air filter and replace if necessary, clean throttle with throttle body cleaner, change fuel filter if have not done so in a while, add fuel injector cleaner to gas tank.

Ok ... stupid woman question ... where is the fuel filter ... also .. one more thing i noticed happened to it recently ... the little flappy thing in the opening where you put the fuel nozzle in is gone ... could it have gone into the tank and messed something up?? Stupid girl question .. Im learning .. and I need my own chilton manual

The fuel filter is underneath the vehicle located some where along the frame of vehicle or near gas tank and that little flap could be actually causing your problem. Gas tank is not being pressurized causing vapor lock.
