99 Honda Accord, won't start, no dash lights or radio

Asked by Jan 02, 2017 at 02:19 PM about the 1999 Honda Accord EX

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1999 Honda Accord that recently start having problems when I try
to start it. When I turn the key, there are no dash lights, no noise, no radio,
power locks don't work. I take the key out for a few minutes, try again. This
time the alarm starts going off. I enter the code, try to start the car again
and there is nothing. Help, please. My car friend tried jumping it the last
time this happened. After about an hour of trying to jump it, disconnect the
battery and going in circles, it finally just started. He had no guesses on
what was causing this. I work 45 minutes from home, and don't want to be
stranded at work one day.

Check the battery to see how old it is, if over 3-4 years you should replace it. Also check your ground wire to make sure you have a good connection. Also sometime the relay switches go bad so google search to see if thats a common problem with that year accord. Good luck mate.

The battery was replaced a year ago. Also, had the battery connections replaced about a month and a half ago.

What was it, that finally fixed the problem?
