Small oil leak

Bought a 1998 Honda Civic ex coupe about
6 weeks ago. The oil light came on and it was
three quarts low in oil but at that time there
was no oil on my garage floor so we think we
bought it that way. Checked it again three
weeks later and it was fine. However I just
saw four little spots of oil on my garage floor
today toward the left side of where I park.
What could a small slow leak like this be?
