I have a 94 Civic! Im looking for a motor but dont need a rocket,just durability! Is my best choice a simple 94 replacement?

A direct replacement (same motor, same year) would be your easiest and cheapest route, that way there is no to little modification needed. If you want an improvement on power you can add aftermarket speed parts to that motor, as opposed to replacing the motor with a bigger displacement engine.
