Dealer, because you will have some recourse if the car is a lemon. Buy it privately then you are 100% on your own, really hard to take them to court, because in most states you buy a car as is...My advice always get a top notch mech to look over the car before you buy it, good luck..

I buy cars privately but I know cars and check them out myself. Buying from a dealer gives you some recourse but you will pay several thousand more for the same car. If you are buying a 2016 car is probably is still under factory warranty.
