hello i would just like to know can i put an electronic coil on my 1973 beetle or not and whats the best coil for my aircooled engine.

Of course you can! Just type "electronic ignition for beetle" on ebay, and search what fits yours. It should vary by the distributor type!

what he said- you will have to replace the whole ignition system- but this has been done thousands of times on the old Beetle- just search it-
